Sharing here few pictures of the Government Secondary School, Lhou in Tawang district. The school building has been given local architectural touch to reflect the local culture, its architect and the place itself. Cleanliness is maintained at highest standard. All walkways, drainage, returning walls inside the school compound have been paved with cement concrete. For extra curricular activities such as games and sports, the school is equipped with a mini stadium and rostrum.
My purpose to share these pictures is to understand and discuss how we can fix the predicaments of our government schools. My visit across the state had led me to witness the dilapidated infrastructures of our government schools. If a small place like Lhou can harness its community potential to maintain a high class school infrastructure, then why not in other places? Frankly, only pumping money for infrastructural improvement is not enough; it requires more. I would request concerned citizens if you may visit Tawang to see for yourself how things are done. Wish to hear from you all on this topic!
